A Courthouse Line

When it comes to video, most of our plans at this point involve talking heads. It could be a one-on-one interview conducted by one of our journalists with a newsmaker, or a panel of experts discoursing on legal technology, or maybe a person-on-the-street commentary from one of our conferences. And those are all fine ideas.

But there are other ways for us to use video. Ed Bean, editor-in-chief at The Daily Report in Atlanta, decided that there could be entertainment value for our audience in posting video of the Atlanta Bar Association's annual musical, A Courthouse Line. As Ed noted in his email to me: "This, of course, is pure fun, but I think we have to provide a little of that around the edges for our readers, and video certainly is a medium suited for such purposes. One of my goals this year is to determine how to most effectively leverage video, which I believe will be a primary driver of readers to our Web site."

I hope you enjoy this and it gives you some ideas for what can be done to both inform and entertain other audiences we serve. And be sure to take notice of the product placement for The Daily Report in the opening scene.
